Is the “ICE” app right for the older driver in your family?

There are many unique and innovative ways to provide critical medical and contact information to emergency personnel who have arrived on the scene to treat you in the event that you have become incapacitated.

One of those ways is by downloading the ICE (In Case of Emergency) app onto your smartphone. Many families have found this to be a life-saving app.

The ICE app can help first responders by providing them with the information they need to treat you effectively in the event that you are unable to communicate. This information, now saved on your smartphone, can also help first responders or medical staff make contact with your family or emergency contacts.

The app allows you to record critical information such as your medications, allergies, medical conditions, height, weight and blood type. In addition, you can record photos of your medical cards and driver’s license.

The app is available as a free download from both App Store and Google Play. As you can see, the ICE app allows rescue workers to notify the appropriate person and get relevant medical information as quickly as possible.

The app is perfect for all members of your family (drivers and non-drivers alike), but particularly for the family’s younger and older drivers who find themselves at a greater risk of being involved in an injury automobile accident.
